Hội An is an ancient town located in the central coastal region of Vietnam. Some of its buildings are listed on the UNESCO’s list of cultural heritage. It was once an important Southeast Asian port facilitating foreign trades with the Chinese, Japanese, and Dutch from the 15th-19th century period. The prominent yellow color is significant in the Vietnamese culture and symbolizes royalty, luck, pride and prosperity. Some also think that yellow is suitable for tropical climates because it absorbs less heat. Nevertheless, the color can be seen covering majority of the buildings in the town, creating a unique architectural vibe.
